The Ministers and Missionaries Benefit Board (MMBB), a provider of retirement benefits and financial services to clergy and other ministry-related employees in the United States, recently established a three-year partnership with the Academy of Preachers. In addition to affirming and promoting the work of the Academy, MMBB has committed to provide ten scholarships of $500 each to the National Festival of Young Preachers for each of the next three years, 2011-13.
Dr. Z. Allen Abbott, the Senior Benefits Consultant for MMBB, wrote in the official letter of partnership, “Proclamation is central to the ministry of the church. With persuasive and effective preaching, congregations become active disciples and transform society. But great preaching is a challenging skill and an art that must be developed. The Academy of Preachers is an essential catalyst for the church in America.”
It is a pleasure to receive the support of such an outstanding organization. To find out more about MMBB and its services, please go to their website at www.mmbb.org.
