Morehouse College started this Campus Festival idea more than 2 years ago, and schools in Texas, Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee and Kentucky have imitated their strategy and success. Now, the Campus Festival is coming also to Kansas and Massachusetts … and who knows where!
During 2012, we expect the following schools to plan and host a Festival of Young Preachers: Berea College and Georgetown College in Kentucky, Johnson University, Trevecca Nazarene University and Belmont University in Tennessee, MidAmerica Nazarene University and Central Baptist Seminary in Kansas, Truett Seminary in Texas, Morehouse College in Georgia, Cincinnati Christian University in Ohio, and Andover Newton Seminary in Massachusetts. And these are just the ones we know about!
Now comes: Festival in a Box!
Everything you need to have a really good Festival: shirts and lanyards, pens and posters, protocols and proceedures, even suggestions on how to raise money and attract an audience. All in a beautiful box, shipped directly to your school (or church). The whole bundle of Festival goodies for $200. You can order by calling our office, 502-245-9793, ext. 123.
There is a CD in the Box, and on that CD are all the documents used in hosting a first class Festival: registration forms, festival schedules, preaching guidelines, sermon evaluations, and ideas about how to involve other institutional offices (such as Public Relations, Enrollment Management, and Alumni Affairs).
Hint: we recommend that you involve not only your current students, but also your potential students as well as your recent graduates (even a seasoned alumnus that you wish to recognize and honor). This mixture of young, younger, and older preachers makes for a wonderful celebration of preaching.
