Festival Manager. Again!

DebbieMoody 150x150 Festival Manager. Again!I am glad to announce that my sister, Debbie Moody, will once again serve as event planner and manager for the National Festival of Young Preachers.

You will recall that she has served in that role for the past two years, although with more limited responsibilities than what she will have for the upcoming Atlanta event. With the resignation of Charissa Acree, Debbie moves to the forefront of our operations with a role significantly expanded from the last two years.

In essence, Debbie will be AoP liaison with the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Atlanta; she will be our point person with all advertisers and exhibitors; she will coordinate the work of all those who are taking on assignments for the Festival (registration, volunteers, music, exhibits, signage, conveners, etc). In short, she is the person to call when you have questions or problems: 859-494-1000.

Debbie, Wyndee Holbrook, and I will be traveling to Atlanta for two days of planning and arranging, July 23-24. We will finalize all issues related to the hotel, select a site for the first AoP alumni luncheon, meet with many of the Festival leadership team (this is a shout out to you, Ethel Ware, Mark, Ernest, Aaron, Brandon, and Dominique), and talk with people and institutions about signing on as a sponsor for some portion of the National Festival.

Wyndee Holbrook, Lead Gospel Catalyst for the AoP, is responsible for the Welcome Team, the Preaching Circles, and the GOSPEL SLAM. That’s enough for one person!

Elbonita Hawkins (AoP ’11) is taking the lead with the AoP alumni; there are 68 of you, and all of you will receive a phone call from Elbonita sometime this summer. (And congratulations to Elbonita for her new job on the student life staff at Georgetown College).

And today, Monday, I met with Stephen Kertis of Kertis Creative (our videographers); we made plans for his whole crew to travel to Atlanta and record all of the 2013 National Festival. (Do you know that as of this minute, 1:57 pm EST on January 2, the videos on our YouTube channel have been viewed 113,513 times?! Yes, I wrote one hundred thirteen thousand, five hundred thirteen. Hard to believe!)

As you can see, we are in full preparatory mode here at the AoP office in Louisville. And we are thrilled with the prospects that are unfolding for our fourth National Festival of Young Preachers! Make sure you register!
