Founding Partners
The Academy of Preachers is endorsed and supported by 50 Founding Partners who have significantly supported and contributed to the success of the Academy since its launch in January 2009. The category of Founding Partner identifies those businesses, congregations, denominations, institutions, and organizations that wrote letters of partnership in the first 15 months of our work, from January 2009 to April of 2010.
Several of these Founding Partners deserve special recognition. The Lilly Endowment made the launch possible with a generous grant. St. Matthews Baptist Church was the first partner to endorse officially and was also the initial host organization for the Academy. The Wayne E. Oates Institute assisted the Academy in the administration of two of our first programs. Peritus signed on not only as a partner but also as a business affiliate, serving as the marketing and public relations wing of Academy programs. The first institutional donor to the Academy was Rosemont Baptist Church, where Dr. Moody had served as interim pastor prior to launching the Academy of Preachers. Following the launch of the Academy, the Kentucky Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church was the first group to officially endorse the Academy.
