We maintain a list elsewhere on this web site of those institutions, organizations, and denominations that send us an official letter of Partnership. Today we add the name of Lindsey Wilson College as number 16 on that list.

College Chaplain Troy Elmore, writing on behalf of the institution, gives a strong word of encouragement: “Lindsey Wilson College is proud to endorse and encourage the Academy of Preachers.”

An affiliate institution of the United Methodist Church, Lindsey Wilson has a strong and growing religious life emphasis. Elmore continues:  “We plan on sending students from our Christian Ministries program to participate in the Festival of Young Preachers.  We also plan to have an exhibit for students to found out more about Lindsey Wilson College and our exciting programs in Christian Ministries.  We are even talking about the establishment of a scholarship for participants in the Academy. ”

The same day we received the registration of Young Preacher #17. He is Winterbourne Jones. Jones is from Washington, D. C., is a rising senior at Fisk University, and is Assistant to the Dean of the Chapel at the University.

Jones also serves on the Young Preachers Leadership Team.  In that capacity he has recruited four other Young Preachers, one of whom (Brandon Perkins) as already registered for the Festival of Young Preachers. The Festival will be held January 7-9, 2010, in Louisville, Kentucky, at the St. Matthews Baptist Church.
