The AoP Board of Trustees, in their January meeting, launched the Inspire ’17 Campaign, setting a goal of raising $90,000 over the next five months.

“We have been so inspired by the preaching and growth of the Young Preachers since the inception of the Academy,” explained board chair Ernest Brooks, AoP ’11. “We are eager to work with donors willing to invest in the future and enable us to inspire even more Young Preachers in the call to Gospel preaching.”

“We will fundraise from all possible sources,” explained Dwight A. Moody, AoP President, who will be leading the campaign. “Our trustees have already led the way. We are also reaching out to all our network of Young Preachers, mentors, friends, and donors.”

In addition, Tyler Best, Director of Communications & Membership, will work to recruit ten new iPartners. Debbie Moody, Director of Festivals, will offer the Lead Sponsors of the 2018 National Festival a discount in exchange for early payment. Dr. Moody will appeal to high capacity donors as well as four foundations.

“This will be a team effort,” Moody said. “We will move forward on all fronts and seek to secure these fund by the end of our current fiscal year, June 30. Already, $13,690 has been given or pledged in the first week of the campaign!”

Plans are also underway to use AoP Day, June 23, to inspire and expand the support for the program and mission of the Academy of Preachers. Events are being planned for June 23 in nine cities: New York, St. Louis, Dallas, Atlanta, Nashville, Louisville, Lexington, Indianapolis, and Washington D.C.
