Festival of Young Preachers at Morehouse College

Preaching with a Prophetic Voice:

Where are all the Prophets?

November 13, 2021

Join us Saturday, November 13, 2021 for a day of preaching at Morehouse College! Join us for our first festival on in-person preaching in more than a year as we focus on the power of the prophetic voice in preaching. ;Our featured preachers will be Dr. Kelly Farrow, Creator of Circle of SacredFire, and Dr. David L. Latimore, Director of the Betsey Stockton Center for Black Church Studies, Princeton Theological Seminary.

You will discover opportunities to grow in your preaching skills through our PreachingCraft classes which we hold for each festival. When we gather on November 13th, you can choose among three PreachingCraft classes: “The Word of the LORD” Among the Prophets, The Prophetic Work of Exegesis: What Can a Text Say?; and What We Learn from the Prophetic Tradition.

Each participant in our Festival of Young Preachers will preach a sermon and participate in preaching circles with five peers who will encourage each other in their preaching. You will have an opportunity to have an experienced preacher talk with you about your sermon and give you feedback and specific encouragement for improvement.

Join us for this celebration of preaching!
